FROSTBITE  TROPHY SERIES 2024/25

A total of  SIX  rounds will be sailed, with SIX races being sailed EACH week, best FOUR rounds to count.

The same yacht must be sailed in each round, unless mechanical problems cannot be repaired at the lakeside.

Tuesday 26th November was a bright but cold day with light winds. Our wind and rigging consultant, set out a ‘suitable’ course and race one was started! After the first lap the group decided it would be more fun if we all sailed the same course and the complex triangular course was changed into a simple oval.

The morning racing went well with reasonable runs on the open water legs with ‘bumper boats’ around the buoys.

The group stopped for lunch, but decided not to wait for Mike to finish his race, as we were worried about the ‘sell by dates’ on our lunches.

After a nice lunch debating such things as AI, fraud and sea planes, we had some mince pies to celebrate Derek's 95 th birthday.

The afternoon racing included the usual shouts of ‘starboard’, ‘water’ and ‘I can’t see my boat’ along with technical questions such as ‘Is there another lap?’  and ‘Is this the finish?’

Counting up to two is so difficult at times and we did have a more complex triangular course to deal with!

After racing was finished it was up to the car park to pack the boats away, a quick chat and a last look at the lake to see if Mike was any where near finishing the last race!

A great day as normal and roll on next week!
