2 DAY SPRINGER & CLUB 500 EVENT
(EAST COAST CHALLENGE)
This was our first attempt at putting on a 2-day event featuring Springer Tugs
and Club 500's but with all the usual trimmings of an open day. The were 24
heats of Club 500 in total featuring juniors and seniors, steering, pushing and
a fun Duck Round Up for the Springers. The ducks all had numbers on the bottom
and the idea was to collect and score as many points as possible. (No other
rules!) Many positive comments were made during the weekend and all in all it
was a very successful event. It was good to see some visitors and modellers from
Hull, Goole and Rawdon clubs at the event and also 2 traders by way of Andy
McCue of Scoonie Hobbies all the way frae Bonny Scotland and Tony Couple the
'Ship Finder General who both had a profitable weekend. Our own members had a
bring and buy sale and this was both popular and well supported. OK, so the
weather could have been kinder to us ranging from rain to sunny spells and 50MPH
gale force winds but that didn't deter anyone and a good time was enjoyed by
all.
These events don't just happen of course so a big thank you to everyone who
helped to make it a success. (You know who you are)
